Assists in supporting the function of the bladder for treatment of: • bedwetting (enuresis) • involuntary urination (incontinence)
Calcarea carbonica imparts strength to urinary tract tissue to help prevent incontinence, especially when exerting oneself physically. Causticum counteracts weakness and paralysis of the bladder muscles which leads to enuresis especially at night. Equisetum hiemale acts on the nervous system and the urinary tract to treat enuresis in children prone to night terrors. Painful urination, feeling that the bladder has not been completely voided and passing of urine in drop-fashion requires this remedy. Ferrum phosphoricum strengthens bladder tissue to ensure that the sphincters close adequately and that the bladder can hold the urine. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory for associated urinary tract infections. Kalium phosphoricum acts on the nervous system to relieve anxiety underlying and caused by enuresis, strengthens the action of bladder muscle and helps in recognising that the bladder needs to be voided. Pulsatilla vulgaris acts on the circulatory and nervous systems to treat nocturnal enuresis and involuntary urination when coughing, sneezing or passing flatus or associated with cystitis and a sluggish circulation. Sabal serrulata is indicated for general irritability of the urinary tract with frequent need to void, especially at night, burning on passing urine, enlarged prostate with difficulty passing urine and incontinence with exertion. Sepia officinalis is indicated for enuresis that occurs in the first sleep at night of children or is associated with prolapse of pelvic organs. Cold air and constant standing aggravates symptoms. It also relieves difficult urination with a bearing-down sensation above the pubic bone. Sulphur is indicated for frequent passing of large volumes of colourless urine especially at night.
